New York State Seal of Biliteracy

Rhinebeck High School offers the NYS Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB). The NYSSB acknowledges the importance of being not only bilingual, but also biliterate in today’s global society. This honor highlights the hard work and achievement of multilingual students in our school community and encourages the pursuit of language study, including the continued development of one’s home language.

The recognition of attaining biliteracy is also a statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admission. The NYSSB is intended for all high school students who master standard academic English and any other language, including American Sign Language.
