Updated 2/18/14: Emergency Closing Days Exceeded; School In Session on Friday, May 23, 2014
Through Tuesday, February 18, 2014, the Rhinebeck Central School District has used six (6) emergency school closing days for students and staff for the 2013-14 school year. These emergency closing days occurred on Tuesday, December 17, Thursday, January 2, 2014, Friday, January 3, 2014, Wednesday, February 5, 2014, Thursday, February 13, 2014, and Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
Five (5) emergency closing days had been built into the annual school calendar and all of those days have been used to date. Since the allotted number of days have been exceeded by at least one (1), school WILL BE in session on FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2014 thus far. Parents and students should plan accordingly.
The status of the February 14th Superintendent's Conference Day that was delayed and then cancelled due to winter weather will be reviewed, and an announcement about a make-up day for those activities will be announced shortly.
The following Board-approved makeup formula provides for regular days of school to be in session for students and staff if more than five (5) emergency closing days are needed, as follows:
If one (1) day: Friday, May 23
If two (2) days: Friday, May 23 & Monday, April 21
If three (3) days: Friday, May 23, Monday, April 21, & Monday, April 14
If four (4) days: Friday, May 23, Monday, April 21, Monday, April 14 & Wednesday, April 16
