On Thursday, May 26, 2016, Rhinebeck High School and the Council on Addiction Prevention & Education of Dutchess County will present Teen Driving: A Family Affair in the Rhinebeck District Auditorium. Attendance at this program with a parent/guardian is mandatory for students wishing to obtain a parking permit for the remainder of this school year, as well as for the 2016-2017 school year.  Students who have attended in previous years are not required to attend.

Registration begins at 6:30 pm. The program is one hour from, 7 to 8 pm, and no admittance will be granted after 7 pm.

During this program, people who have been victims of drunk driving - whose lives have been forever changed by someone’s decision to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking or using some other drug– will share their compelling stories and reinforce every warning you’ve ever given, every message issued by teachers, and every public service announcement seen on television. In addition, a representative from the DA’s office and from an insurance company will also discuss the legal and liability consequences of underage drinking-for you and your teen.
