CLS PE Department Needs Your Vote Starting April 4 As They Enter the NYS AHPERD Competition Again This Year
The CLS Physical Education Program again has entered the “Get Moving Grant” sponsored by NYS AHPERD (Association for Health, PE, Recreation, and Dance). Last year, we won first place in the Southeastern Zone of NYS for a total of $1,000 in PE equipment money. This year, we are re-entering the grant for a chance at another $1,000 (first place), $500 (second place), or $250 (third place). If we win the Southeastern Zone, we move on to the state-level of the grant competition for a chance for up to another $2,000 in equipment money. We plan on using the money to further enhance the CLS PE Program and continue to make it state-of-the-art and cutting edge.
Students in grades K-5 from all 23 of the Chancellor Livingston Elementary School classes werew recorded. The video was submitted and uploaded to the NYS AHPERD Southeastern Zone website. Our CLS PE teachers would appreciate it if members of the Rhinebeck CSD Community would vote as many times as they can to help our school win the grant. Whichever video entry receives the most votes will win the equipment grant. If they win, it will allow them to continue to provide CLS students in grades K-5 with the most up-to-date, innovative equipment. It would be greatly appreciated if you could please help vote for our video, as well as share it with as many people as you can.
Voting for the video grant begins Monday, April 4th. To vote for the video, people will need to click on the following link - http://www.nysahperd.org/content/leadership/executive-council/southeastern-zone.cfm. Once there, they will need to scroll down to the title, "Southeastern Zone 2016 Get Moving NY Video Contest," and click on the Chancellor Livingston Elementary School link. Then, after watching the video, they will need to vote for the video. Voting is open until Friday, April 15th, and anyone can vote.
