District Implements School Cafeteria Point-Of-Sale Program
The Rhinebeck Central School District food service program now has a Point-of-Sale (POS) System for meal and a la carte purchases at the District's three cafeterias. Students will use their Student ID# to access the POS System regardless of meal eligibility status (free, reduced or paid) and whether a full or partial meal is selected.
The system is designed to offer a number of conveniences for parents and students. Deposits in any amount may be made to a student’s personal account, thus reducing the chance that breakfast and lunch money will be forgotten, lost or stolen. Students will use their student ID# as their PIN to debit purchases from their account.

The District hopes that parents will take advantage of this opportunity to deposit monies for the week, month or semester to their child’s account. All balances for meals paid in advance will be credited to their child’s account for use in the cafeteria. Students will still have the option of paying as they go through the serving line but advanced payment will speed transactions, allow lines to move more quickly, and afford more time for eating. The District currently is investigating online payment options and more information will follow. Notification will be sent to families via email or US mail if a child’s account is overdrawn.

Chancellor Elementary School
Advance payment can be made by sending cash or check in a sealed envelope labeled with the information listed below. THE CHILD WILL HAND THE ENVELOPE TO HIS/HER TEACHER.
Bulkeley Middle School & Rhinebeck High School
Advance payments should be put in a sealed envelope labeled with the information listed below and put in the drop box at the Greeter’s Desk. Advance payments can also be made in the cafeteria breakfast locations in the morning prior to 10 am to ensure lunch money is posted for that day.
THE PAYMENT ENVELOPE MUST BE MARKED WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

· Child’s Name (FIRST & LAST) & Child’s ID# (We receive many envelopes with no name or a child’s first name only)
· Homeroom Teacher’s Name
