First Quarter Interim Reports Available Through the Parent Portal on Friday, October 16, 2015
The first five weeks of the 2015-16 school year have come and gone, and with them the arrival of the first interim (5-week) reporting period. Again this year, the Rhinebeck Central School District is providing to parents the benefit of password-protected on-line access to middle school or high school student’s interim reports, as well as interim reports and grade reports that are archived in SchoolTool, our student information database, from prior years. The first interim reporting period comments will be available through the parent portal on Friday, October 16, 2015.
The District is making this information available digitally in an effort to improve communications about student achievement, as well as to save taxpayer money on paper and postage and to make better use of clerical resources.
In order to access the SchoolTool “parent portal” to be able to view a child’s first interim report for the 2015-16 school year, the attached instructions should be followed. In order to access the SchoolTool “parent portal” for the first time to be able to view a child’s first interim report for the 2015-16 school year, parents must log on to https://st-rb.mhric.org/rhinebeck/default.aspx, use the full primary e-mail address provided to the school district as the username, click the “New User or Forgot password?) link, and receive an e-mail message with a new password. Using the new password, parents will return to https://st-rb.mhric.org/rhinebeck/default.aspx and use their e-mail address and new password to log on. Parents have the option of changing their password once logged in under the Account tab on the upper right. See the file below for more detailed information. However, parents must use the primary e-mail address that they have on file with the Rhinebeck Central School District.
If there are any questions or problems using SchoolTool, parents can get help by clicking on the School Tool Parent Portal link on the left side of the school district web site’s main page (www.rhinebeckcsd.org) or on the middle school or high school web page. Parents can also contact their child’s building principal or guidance counselor by telephone or e-mail so they can be connected with the necessary assistance.
Parents who have requested a hard copy of their child’s interim report through the US mail, it will arrive at your home over the next several days. However, parents can access their child’s interim report immediately, through SchoolTool’s “parent portal”, without waiting for the US mail to be delivered to your home.
Finally, the District appreciates the positive feedback last year about this quicker, more efficient, and less expensive means of communicating with parents about their children’s academic progress.
