2015-16 Rhinebeck School Budget Passes by Wide Margin Again This Year, In Spite of Low Voter Turnout; Lyons and Fleischhauer Re-Elected To 3 year BOE Terms
The 2015-16 Rhinebeck Central School budget was approved by the District's voters on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. A total of 435 votes were cast, 191 votes less than in May 2014. 330 votes were tallied in favor of the budget, with 105 "No" votes registered. The budget passed by a margin of 76% in favor.
The budget featured a 2.68% budget-to-budget increase and a resulting tax levy increase of 2.17%, just within the 2015-16 State tax levy limit for the Rhinebeck District.
In addition, incumbents Diane Lyons (368 votes) and Mark Fleischhauer (380 votes) were re-elected to three-year terms as members of the Board of Education, beginning July 1, 2015.
The Board of Education would like to thank all of those community members who participated in this year's annual budget vote and Board member election process.
